Flashlight

A simple flashlight, turns electrical energy from a battery into light energy,
just remember that light travels very very fast at 186,282 miles per hour

You will need a small screwdriver, scissors and two AA batteries.

1. Make the design your own and either paint or felt pen the pieces.

2. Use your scissors to strip off the end 1 cm of the red and black wires. Attach the red wire with the circular end by the nut onto the 8mm screw.

3. Join the spring and black wire by circular wire onto the 16mm screw. Screw through the wood and fix with a nut.

4. Build the body of the torch adding the wired wood as shown in the picture.

5. Insert the LED lamp into the wood, insert the black wire into the short leg of the LED, insert the red wire into the long leg of the LED. An LED is a special type of electronics called a Light Emitting Diode and it only works when electricity moves through it in the correct direction.

6. The terminal wire goes through the rounded corners of the battery holder.

7. Bend the switch legs down, the switch attaches to the wood plate. The LED wood plate is attached using 7mm screws.

8. Remove the film off the lens first, place the first four pieces then the lens and the reflective cup. Now add the last wood pieces.

9. Attached the flashlight head to the handle.

10. Install the batteries and clip on the outer cover.

It’s now time to test it’s all been assembled correctly. Turn the lights off and turn on the switch.
